How to verify integrity of a file and query information about its owner
When you want to query information about any file on you computer (e.g. you've just downloaded it from Internet and want to check that the file is OK and safe to run), just right-click on the file in Windows Explorer, and select "File Info..." (GenuineFile must be already installed on your computer, if not installed yet, please download and install)

GenuineFile plugin will compute a cryptographic hash (also called fingerprint) of the file and send it to GenuineFile.com (note that actual file contents are never sent to GenuineFile, so it is OK to query even confidential files). GenuineFile.com will find the hash in its database and return information about this file to you:

The information stored about each file includes:
- Who notarized the file
- When the file was notarized
- Original filename given by the author
- Title of the file given by the author
- Description of the file given by the author
Not every file in the world is known to GenuineFile. The screenshot below is an example of a file that was not notarized:

If a file was not notarized, you can notarize it yourself.
