Ensuring integrity of downloaded files
If you downloaded a file...
If you downloaded a file from the Internet, you want to be sure that the file is genuine, correct? GenuineFile allows you to check the genuineness of the file to make sure that it was not infected with viruses, trojans, or spyware, and it was not damaged in transit.
To check the file you just downloaded, you need to right click the file in Explorer and select "File Info...". (GenuineFile must be already installed on your computer, if not installed yet, please download and install). You will be shown information about this file. If this information matches what you expect to see, the file is genuine, otherwise it is worth checking with the site you downloaded the file from before you try to use it.
If you offer files for download...
If you offer files for download, you can provide additional free service to your users by allowing them to verify integrity of files they download from your site. This allows to increase your downloads by making you look more secure and trustworthy.
To do that you need to notarize the files with GenuineFile. Notarization also protects your intellectual property (if you are the owner of the files you offer for download).
