GenuineFile's digital notarization process is widely witnessed meaning that everyone can verify the authenticity of our records, and even get a copy of them. This makes it impossible even for GenuineFile to forge or backdate fingerprints stored on our site.
Every fingerprint is verified and digitally signed by GenuineFile admin (usually within 24 hours after being submitted). Also, fingerprints are grouped into sets, and each set is digitally signed (again) and timestamped, click here for more details. Here you can download in XML format any of such sets, verify it, and even store it for later comparison. For verification, you can use our free program (source code is also available) or write your own based on the format description.

Please note that GenuineFile shares a common database with our parent company GenuineDoc, that's why you'll notice GenuineDoc generated fingerprints of web pages along with GenuineFile generated fingerprints of files. It is easy to distinguish them in the XML dumps: web page fingerprints have type field set to 'webpage' while file fingerprints have type 'file'.
